Web poker has become world acclaimed as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years many variations on the original poker game have been created, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the house instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little concealment or different kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the dealer announcing "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course all of the different players are given five cards each. After you have seen your hand and the dealer's first card, you have to in turn make a call bet or accede. The call wager's amount is equal to your original bet, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your bet goes instantly to the casino. After the wager comes the conclusion. If the dealer doesn't have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, plus a figure equal to the initial wager. If the bank does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the dealer's hand. The bank pony's up money equal to your wager and set odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
