Internet poker has become world acclaimed recently, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous variations on the first poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with 21 than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the bank rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little conniving or other types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the dealer declares "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course every one of the other players receive 5 cards. After you have observed your hand and the dealer's initial card, you must in turn make a call wager or give up. The call wager's value is akin to your original wager, which means that the risks will have doubled. Abandoning means that your wager goes instantaneously to the dealer. After the wager comes the conclusion. If the bank doesn't have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, plus a sum on par with the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the bank's hand. The house pony's up chips even with your wager and controlled expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
