Internet poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised events and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back in reality a bit further than its television scores. Over the years several variations on the earliest poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling vingt-et-un than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the casino rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little conniving or other kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the dealer announcing "No more bets." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course all of the different gamblers are given 5 cards. Once you have seen your hand and the bank's 1st card, you need to either make a call bet or surrender. The call wager's amount is akin to your beginning ante, which means that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your wager goes directly to the casino. After the bet is the conclusion. If the bank doesn't have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, with a sum equal to the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the dealer's hand. The bank pays cash equal to your wager and controlled expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
