Online poker has become globally celebrated recently, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous variations on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling 21 than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino instead of each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little bluffing or different kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up before the croupier saying "No further bets." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the different gamblers acquire 5 cards. After you have observed your hand and the dealer's first card, you must either make a call bet or surrender. The call bet's value is akin to your original wager, meaning that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your ante goes instantaneously to the dealer. After the wager is the conclusion. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, with an amount in accordance with the ante. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand beats the casino's hand. The casino pays money equal to your initial bet and controlled odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
